The common word right? It crosses our eyes pretty much of the times when we read the Bible when we read parables. We also hear it through sermons from preachers, don’t we? But, imagine if someone gave you a task to write about salvation and say it your own way? How would you paraphrase it Would it be the good works you do in the community? The good work you do in church? How do you portray salvation? Is it the day you got baptized?
This is what first came into my mind when I was trying to get what to write about it!
I cannot forget the joy I had on my baptismal day! I seriously thought I was holy as an angel and was forever free from ever sinning! I was wrong!
Seeing my life today if salvation would be about being born again, I would have to be born again every day! Or even five times a day.
If salvation was about all the charitable works I do compassion I show or kindness demonstrated, I would be the most Saved person existing.
But I remembered the story from Acts 16:30-31(NIV)of the jailer, Paul, and Silas where he asked them “…Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” It made more sense. Understanding that Salvation is a lifetime habit of a Christian and that it doesn’t require tangible evidence to have it. It is received through believing in God!
So must you be asking how to obtain true Salvation every time? Here’s what Jesus reminds us:
1. You can not obtain Salvation on your own; “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV. You need Christ by grace to understand that Christ saves us, forgives us not because we are good or do good but because we have accepted Him to do the work of salvation in our lives.
2. Seek Salvation every time. Most of the Christians fear to show their vulnerability to God because of how much they fear judgment! But 1 John 1:9(NIV) says that “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Jesus, our Savior has promised to be Our Lord and Protector always as long as we keep holding on to Him in the walk of Faith. We shall know what it feels like to have salvation through him as we walk with Him.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”Acts 4:12 (NIV). *That name is the name of Jesus Christ. *
