Behind The Seen
One day, in a big forest there, lived monkeys! Every time the baby monkeys would come to a big tree with a hole inside full of peanuts that they so much loved! they would come to eat peanuts and run quickly back to their home before the hunter comes!
The mother of the monkeys had always warned them about the hunter who would come one day and hunt them but the baby monkeys had never seen the hunter so they were less cautious and then the big day came! The baby monkeys climbed the tree as they used to and bam!!! the hunter came! The baby monkeys saw him from a distance and started running, but one of them hesitated and did not want to unfold the hand because he did not want to leave the peanuts, his 2 brothers kept crying out his name to come but he did not want to come without the peanuts since the hole was too small for him to pull out the hand-folded and suddenly The hunter came and shot him! What a sad ending!
As we read in Mathew 25:13, “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man comes.”
This is how God wants us to be so ready for his second coming.
He wants us to be Holy but yet He knows we are so weak and unable to live without sinning,
We love the world and its pleasures so much that it blocks our vision to realize how much this will disgrace us the privilege of getting to heaven.
“Education, culture, the exercise of the will, human effort, all have their proper sphere, but here they are powerless. They may produce an outward correctness of behavior, but they cannot change the heart; they cannot purify the springs of life. There must be a power working from within, a new life from above before men can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. His grace alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness. I quote this from Steps to Christ Chapter 2.”
Ellen G. White said, “Getting in heaven will require us holiness that equals the beauty we will find there!”
This always troubles my heart! It means, No sin however small it would be, will enter heaven!
Today God wants us to let go of all the things we are failing at, they can be lust, anger, ego and even those we sometimes consider not as sins like gossip, small lies…
He wants us to let go of them completely, He wants to free us but we keep resisting just like the baby monkey!
I pray today that we may get the courage to surrender to God everything, every single thing that would take us the grace of going to heaven when He returns, and that we may practice Holiness each time not by our own effort but only by Christ the Savior!
